Research integrity and disclosure

Last updated

Status before claims

Every publication carries a status that describes the strength of its evidence: research question, protocol, pilot, working paper, reproduced, independently replicated, archived or corrected. These states are defined on the methods page and enforced when the site is built.

Review

No work is described as peer reviewed unless it has undergone a qualifying external review process, which is then named and linked. At present, no ALGEDI publication makes that claim.

Authorship and affiliation

Authors are listed only when confirmed. Affiliations, qualifications and partnerships are stated only when verified. Where no individual author is confirmed, work is attributed to the lab.

Disclosures

Each publication discloses the circumstances that could reasonably bear on how it is read, including where a question arose from the lab's own practical work, any funding or relationship relevant to the systems studied, and any material withheld for privacy or confidentiality.

Private and proprietary material

Private conversations, personal data, proprietary source code and confidential client material are not published without authorization. Lessons drawn from confidential work are generalized and published only where publication rights permit.

Security-sensitive findings

Findings that affect a vendor's product are disclosed to that vendor before publication, and the disclosure date is recorded. Working exploit or bypass payloads are never published. A security finding is published as research only when it has a defined question, a defensible method, appropriate evidence and a contribution beyond a single incident.

Corrections and retractions

Errors are corrected in place, with the date and nature of each correction recorded on the entry. Retracted or superseded work remains accessible with its status. Nothing is silently removed.
